Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Pihuamo style, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A well-modeled anthropomorphic standing male figure with a highly-burnished, red-slipped surface. The Pihuamo-style figure stands atop arched feet and attenuated legs, nude with delineated genitalia, with curved arms resting on wide thighs. His face displays an expressive countenance comprised of a prominent nose, coffee-bean eyes, a thin mouth, and a wide brow, all capped by a simple three-bar headband. Perforations into the perky ears suggest additional ornamentation once adorned this figure. Size: 9" H (22.9 cm).
