Native American, Southwestern United States, probably Navajo or Zuni, ca. late 20th century CE. A lovely necklace of wearable form featuring petite resin beads as well as light-blue magnesite spacer beads. Spaced across the necklace strand are 17 hand-carved bone bear pendants, each with striated fur and petite black eyes, and the largest with an integral suspension loop protruding from the back. Size (necklace): 33.5" L (85.1 cm); (largest bear): 1.78" L x 0.45" W x 1.08" H (4.5 cm x 1.1 cm x 2.7 cm); (display case): 8" L x 14.5" W x 1.1" H (20.3 cm x 36.8 cm x 2.8 cm)
