Native American, central United States, Great Plains, Plains Indians, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A well-preserved buffalo hide scraper with a naturally-formed wooden handle shaft that curves outwards with a sharpened iron blade bound beneath. A panel of beaded hide, perhaps buffalo, is attached to the top of the handle and stands in stark contrast with its white and blue beadwork against the dark, coffee-hued wood. Size: 7" L x 1.8" W x 18.7" H (17.8 cm x 4.6 cm x 47.5 cm)
