Description:

Native American, northwestern US/southern/central Canada, Late Archaic to Early Woodland, ca. 2000 BCE to 500 CE. A well-knapped projectile point with a wide, prominent stem. The style may be the Alberta type, with its cross section that is even and thick, its slightly blunted tip, and its elongated, straight stem that is longer than it is wide. The obsidian is translucent, and glows grey when held to a light source. Obsidian was a prestigious trade good, found as a raw material in regions with a more recent volcanic past - namely, the western United States. Size: 1.3" W x 4.65" H (3.3 cm x 11.8 cm)

Provenance: private Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA collection, acquired before 1995
