Native American, Southwestern United States, Archaic to Woodlands period, ca. 8000 BCE to 1800s CE. This extensive collection comprises over 100 pieces of chert (flint) debitage as well as a few projectile points and scrapers. Debitage, remnants from shaping larger tools, may have been too small or irregular to fashion into specialized implements like projectile points and are often discarded as waste. But some larger pieces can still serve practical purpose and were sharpened and modified for use as scrapers or cutting tools. Size of largest: 1.89" L x 1.33" W (4.8 cm x 3.4 cm); smallest: 0.3" L x 0.25" W (0.8 cm x 0.6 cm)
