Description:

North America, Native American, Central Plains ca. early 19th century CE. Native American burled wooden clubs present an intricately figured wood that is relished for its beauty and rarity by sculptors, furniture makers, and artists. Because of its interlocking grain and strong matter, burls were ideal for creating clubs. While collected in the San Diego area, the artifact may in fact derive from the Central Plains and arrived further West via trade. Size: 13"L. Provenance: Ex-Galleria-Eleni/Weissman Gallery, Chicago, collected in San Diego, California. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. #101681
