Description:

Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Inuit / Inupiaq / Yupik, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A fishing lure and hook made from carved bone, an iron nail, flat iron plate, and a suspension ring for the line. The nail is modified with a notched barb at the tip, designed to become lodged in the throat of anything that swallows it. Size: 3.3" L x 1.5" W (8.4 cm x 3.8 cm)
