Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Carchi-Narino, Capuli Complex, ca. 850 to 1500 CE. A beautiful polychrome pedestal bowl depicting a warrior figure wearing an opulent feathered headdress and feathered armor, standing in profile and proudly presenting a long staff on the tondo, in red on cream negative resist with a chocolate brown surround as well as striations around the rim. A register of triangulated concentric circle motifs embellishes the outer walls. Quite lovely. Size: 7" in diameter x 2.875" H (17.8 cm x 7.3 cm)
