Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Loma Negra, Mochica/Moche, ca. 100 BCE - 100 CE. Nice pairing of impressive artistry from the ancients of Peru. First off, an exquisite gold-glided copper bowl created by the Moche, rich with the markings of history. Note the imprint of textile wrapping on the surface and the accumulation of burial deposits. With a bit of conservation, the impressive gold hue would surface nicely. 2"H x 5"L

Provenance: Ex-Westermann Collection, Germany

Next, we have a finely incised gourd in bowl form with beautiful inlaid silver decoration. Remarkable that this fragile dish has survived throughout the ages! 4"D Custom, museum quality stand.

Provenance: Ex-Arundel Collection, California
