Description:

**Originally Listed At $350**

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche culture, ca. 100 to 300 CE. A wonderful copper tupu - a pin used to secure a textile tunic - with a lengthy, slender pin and a decorative finial in the form of a perched jaguar. The animal sits with its head up, its legs curled under its body, and its long tongue extended outward, curving down to touch its chest. Its round eyes bulge outward from the head and its huge, round ears rise above its body. Covered in a thick blue-green patina, this is a great example of ancient fashion! Size: 0.45" W x 6.25" H (1.1 cm x 15.9 cm); 7.25" H (18.4 cm) on included custom stand.
