Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche, Phase IV, ca. 500 to 700 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery vessel exhibiting a squat foot, a stirrup-shaped handle surmounted by a cylindrical spout, and a conical stem emanating upwards from atop the spherical body, all presented in cream and russet pigments. Surrounding the base of the shaft is a series of fineline Moche images of war including tumi blades, a second war club, an idiophone, and perhaps a set of severed male genitalia. Size: 8" L x 5.75" W x 9.625" H (20.3 cm x 14.6 cm x 24.4 cm)
