Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Mixtec, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A figural talisman carved from veined grey stone with dark green inclusions, most likely depicting Tlaloc, the Rain God, with its incised fanged mouth, wide spiral eyes, large round earspools, and spiked headdress. The deity crouches upon upraised knees with hands crossed over his chest. Pierced at back for suspension. Custom wood mount. Size: 5" H (12.7 cm) + stand.
