Description:

Central Asia, India, ca. 19th century CE. A miniature peacock figurine formed from sheets of 90.6% silver. The peacock presents atop a pair of sinuous legs and curved feet and holds feathered wings against its hollow, conical breast. The slender head hangs gracefully from atop the tubular neck, and a spade-shaped tail bears several perforations and is applied along the back. Size: 0.75" W x 1.25" H (1.9 cm x 3.2 cm); quality of silver: 90.6%; total weight: 14.5 grams.
