Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, Protoclassic Period, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A hand-built pottery 'pretty lady' figure with delineated legs, a portly abdomen, globular breasts, stocky arms, and a broad neck adorned with a group of impressed necklaces. The rounded head boasts an abstract visage of impressed coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a bulbous nose, thin lips, and puffy cheeks, all beneath a twin-lobed coiffure with drooping bangs. Size: 2.25" W x 4.375" H (5.7 cm x 11.1 cm); 4.8" H (12.2 cm) on included custom stand.
