Mexico, 19th to early 20th century. Delightful stained pine box covered on 5 sides with almost every shape and type of tin milagro. Depicted are birds, heads, praying figures, cows, torsos, feathers, corn, hearts, farm animals, body parts, etc, etc. Over 120 milagros in all. Milagros are small votives traditionally used for healing purposes and are often attached to altars and shrines. Looks like someone had many maladies to be overcome. A sweet piece of devotional art! Size: 5.875" L x 4.5" W x 3.25" H (14.9 cm x 11.4 cm x 8.3 cm)
