Description:

**Originally Listed At $500**

Middle East, Islamic world, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. A carved white marble lamp with an elegant, avian form. The body of the vessel stands on a round, flared foot ringed with deeply incised concentric circles. Above this is a deep, elongated trough that looks like a bird's beak when viewed in profile that projects outward from the goblet-like body of the vessel. The edge of the rim and the spout have incised lines creating a nice texture along them, while the body has a cross-hatched motif around its shoulder. A striking and beautiful example! Size: 6.75" L x 3.25" W x 4.15" H (17.1 cm x 8.3 cm x 10.5 cm)
