Description:

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A cast-bronze sword blade of an elongated petaloid form with a thick midrib, sharpened edges, a tapered point, and a narrow tang. A pair of projecting flanges flank the tang and illustrate where the hand guard was situated as well as how the handle was attached at one time. Areas of mottled brown and green patina have formed across the weapon and create an attractive presentation. Size: 17.1" L x 2.4" W (43.4 cm x 6.1 cm)
