Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Luristan culture, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A beast of a weapon with a forged head of intimidating form with a cylindrical bronze body with a midsection wrapped with dense iron material to form a harder bludgeoning surface. Nice patina has developed across both the bronze and iron surfaces. Size: 2.2" W x 3.1" H (5.6 cm x 7.9 cm)
