Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 2 cast-bronze weapons from ancient Luristan, a chisel-shaped axe head and a slender dagger. The dagger features a shallow midrib running down to the integral handle, and the axe head features a dense handle and a lunate shoulder. Each weapon is covered in layers of naturally-occurring patina in hues of brown, green, and russet. Size (dagger): 13.4" L x 1" W (34 cm x 2.5 cm); (axe head): 7.875" L x 3.8" W (20 cm x 9.7 cm)

Provenance: private Everett, Massachusetts, USA collection, purchased December 6, 2017 and June 21, 2020
