Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central Mexico, Mixtec culture, ca. 1200 to 1521 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished bowl with a lightly concave base, short walls that terminate in a thick rim, and a shallow basin. The orange-slipped vessel is ringed with a red band along the interior rim, with a thin white stripe along the inside and outside of the rim, additional white pigment the intricate spiral, rectangular, and spotted motifs along the base, and petite stippling filling in the empty areas in-between. Size: 7.5" W x 2.25" H (19 cm x 5.7 cm).
