Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central Peru, Inca Empire, ca. 1200 to 1532 CE. A lovely set of five cast-copper tools used during the Inca Empire. The shortest tool is a slender piercer (also known as a bloodletter) with a flattened scraper on one end and an extremely sharp needle point on the other. Also included are four copper celts, of ceremonial forms with thick handles, lengthy bodies, and thin blade edges. Each tool has thick layers of mottled green, blue-green, and/or brown patina, and all are fine examples of ancient Inca artistry! Size of largest (celt): 1.25" W x 9.2" H (3.2 cm x 23.4 cm).

  • Condition: All tools have slight bending to overall form, with light encrustations, and minor nicks to bodies and peripheries. Small chips to blade edges of some celts. Nice earthen deposits and great patina throughout.
