Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Chimu-Inca, ca. 100 to 1500 CE. Nice collection of four silver and one copper tweezer. These were used by the men (and assumptively women as well) as depilatory tools to pull hairs off of the face and other regions of the body. Two largest silver and copper example were drilled for suspension. Metal tested at 80 to 95 % pure silver. Longest example: Size: 2.75" L (7 cm)

Provenance: private Southern California, USA collection, acquired in the 1970s to mid-1980s
