Description:

Northern Europe, Viking / Norse culture, ca. 800 to 1000 CE. A beautiful collection of Viking-era bronze bracelets, two in solid band form and two intricately braided. The pair of solid band bracelets have two inward-curving terminals and hammered designs, one with repeating circles and a dark gray patina, and the other with abstract shapes, linear sections, and a forest-green patina. The pair of braided bracelets, made of tightly-woven thread-like bronze wires twined around one another, have their threads meet and conjoin at the terminals; one bracelet is comprised of thicker threads with a lovely blue-green patina, and the other with a tighter weaving and pistachio-green patina. Size (largest solid band): 2.2" W (5.6 cm); size (largest braided): 2.75" W (7 cm).
