Description:

Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Narino culture, ca. 850 to 1500 CE. A quartet of delightful ceramic miniature maskettes, each pierced at its top in two places to allow them to be worn as amulets or sewn onto clothing. Each maskette is distinctive and three are bichrome; the fourth is entirely a rich, earthy red. Size of largest: 1.55" W x 1.6" H (3.9 cm x 4.1 cm); 3.25" H (8.3 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-private Danish collection, acquired early 1970s
