Pre-Columbian, Border area between Panama & Costa Rica (Diquis zone), Chirique Phase, ca. 1000-1500 CE. Aesthetically appealing trio of Chiriqui ollas impressive for their range of globular forms and varying signs of iconography. The largest shows a plain surface, but boasts a striking form. The smallest features an animal motif. The medium sized olla includes a lovely incised pattern on its shoulder, finely detailed handles with seashell motif, and dramatic smoke cloud on surface. 6-1/2"T x 6-1/4"D at widest; 4-3/4"T x 6"D at widest; 2-1/4"T x 2-1/2"D at widest.
