Pre-Columbian, Border area between Panama & Costa Rica (Diquis zone), Chirique Phase, ca. 1000-1500 CE. This group is composed of three petite Chiriqui ollas, each one impressive for its appealing forms and abstract decorative composition created by negative painting technique. The glazed look of the piece was derived from rubbing small pebbles over the pot's surface. 3-3/4"T x 3-1/2"D, 3-1/4"T x 4"D, 2-1/2"T x 2-1/2"D at widest. Provenance: Ex-J.
