Pre-Columbian, Border Ecuador / Columbia, Narino culture, ca. 800-1500 CE. This ensemble includes a striking bowl with pedestal base and an impressive form as well as a stylized radiating concentric star/ flower motif on the interior expertly created with the Narino artisan's signature negative resist technique in black and cream with a wash of iron rich red pigment painted in a crescent moon form to one side. The redware ocarina assumes the form of a seashell. Last but not least is a small olla adorned with geometric motifs in black on cream negative resist superimposed with a translucent red wash.
