Description:

Ancient Near East, Luristan, northwestern Iran, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A matching trio of bronze cloak pins cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process with poppy flower shaped termini. Elaborately decorated fashion articles were used to fasten clothes before the widespread adoption of fibulae (brooches). Size of largest: 1" W x 7.5" H (2.5 cm x 19 cm); 7.95" H (20.2 cm) on included custom stand.
