Description:

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A gorgeous pair of circular bracelets made of cast bronze, each with a sturdy composition forming a hollow open loop with zoomorphic terminals. Roughly rectangular, each terminal is symmetrically decorated with an abstract, dragon-style head featuring almond-shaped eyes, perky ears, attenuated snouts, and stylized locks of hair. The terminals on both bracelets are separated, and each bracelet is covered in layers of russet and green patina. Size (bracelet): 3.8" Diameter (9.7 cm); size (wrist opening): 3.125" Diameter (7.9 cm).

  • Condition: Wearable as shown. Both bracelets have slight bending to overall forms, softening to some finer details, and minor nicks to bands and terminals, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits as well as great green and russet patina throughout.
