Description:

Ancient Near East/Central Asia, Achaemenid Persian (ca. 550 to 300 BCE) or Sasanian (Sassanian/Sassanid) Empire (ca. 2nd to 7th century CE). A pair of necklaces made from ancient ovoid agate beads on modern cords with modern gold-plated findings. One is made of pale brown and creamy white beads, some pale enough to be almost translucent, with a single large bead serving as a pendant. The other is made of alternating large and small darker beads. The natural beauty of the stone has been enhanced by the creators of these ancient beads. Length of first: 19" L (48.3 cm); length of second: 22" L (55.9 cm); largest bead is 1" L (2.5 cm)
