Description:

Ancient Near East, Holyland, Judea, Deir Samit, Late Bronze Age, ca. 1500 to 1250 BCE. A beautiful terracotta canteen adorned with negative resist decoration of bold, geometric designs. Lentoid in shape with an elongated neck and ribbon-form handle, the ancient vessel was likely used to hold ritual oil or wine. A charming example that directly links us to the ancient past, our hands rest where other hands did in Biblical times; the energy, the bond, is there to be felt. Size: 3.9" W x 6.1" H (9.9 cm x 15.5 cm); 6.6" H (16.8 cm) on included custom stand.
