Description:

Central Asia, Tibet, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A necklace containing a tiny statue of the Buddha, visible through a round glass window in the front of the necklace. The necklace is composed of a repousse white metal face with four decorations of auspicious symbols above a wide, cylindrical copper body that holds the small statue. This is suspended on a leather strap with two leather, pillow-like ornaments on either side of the strap. Size of pendant: 2.6" W x 1.9" H (6.6 cm x 4.8 cm); length of string: 22.5" L (57.2 cm)
