Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, Sukhothai Period, ca. 14th to 16th century CE. A robust hand-built pottery jar covered in a thick glaze in mottled hues of brown ranging from caramel to espresso. The vessel features high tapered shoulders, a brief neck, and a rolled rim. Its neck is surrounded by 4 petite lug handles. Glaze was allowed to drip over the vessel freely, creating a drip effect around the vessel's base. A well-constructed vessel sure to last many more lifetimes! Size: 12.5" in diameter x 11.375" H (31.8 cm x 28.9 cm)
