Description:

Eastern Europe, Russia, southeastern Magadan Region, Seymchan, found ca. 1967 CE. A gorgeous slice of the highly stable and rust resistant pallasite Seymchan meteorite composed of primarily iron with some nickel content as well as dozens of miniscule olivine crystal inclusions throughout. Both sides of the slice have been polished until they achieved an incredibly lustrous finish. Fragments of this meteorite were found in the Yasachnaya River in 1967. In 2004, a substantial amount of additional material was recovered from the same site. Size: 6.125" W x 3.875" H (15.6 cm x 9.8 cm); total weight: 138.5 grams.
