Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A gorgeous, mold-formed pottery oil lamp of a sizable form with a flat base, gradually expanding walls, a rounded shoulder, a pierced handle on the back end, a large fill hole within the recessed tondo, and a rounded wick spout. The shoulder is adorned with a register of repeating semicircles, and the tondo is decorated with a flower petal motif. Size: 4.3" W x 2.125" H (10.9 cm x 5.4 cm); 5" H (12.7 cm) on included custom stand.
