Description:

Roman, late Imperial Period, ca. late 3rd to early 5th century CE. A beautiful glass bowl, free-blown from semi-translucent green glass with a slightly concave base and rough pontil scar, tall walls, a deep basin, and a thin rim which has a slight inward-curving lip. Several thin wheel-cut striations course around the exterior of the body. Thick, brilliant layers of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence elegantly complement the vessel's spring hues, and scattered areas of golden iridescence only increase its attractiveness. A sizable example of fine Roman artistry! Size: 5.3" W x 3.4" H (13.5 cm x 8.6 cm).
