Description:

Pre-Columbian, Late Classic Maya, Copenac Class, ca. 600 to 900 CE. This is a large, bold vessel with paitned orange, tan, brown, and red decoration on the body. The upper and lower part are ringed with Primary Standard Sequence (PSS) glyphs and diagonal glyphs decorate the body against the red surface. A vessel like this one would have been used to hold cacao drink, which seems to have had a sacred function. Size: 7" W x 8.5" H (17.8 cm x 21.6 cm)
