Pre-Columbian, Panama, Cocle culture, ca. 400 to 600 CE. A large terracotta polychrome vessel with a bulbous body, rounded bottom, long neck, and wide rim. Beautifully decorated with bands of red and black on cream ground circumambulating the neck and framing the central design panel comprised of abstract, swirled designs representing boa ovals, each containing a pair of double-headed avians. Size: 9" W x 13" H (22.9 cm x 33 cm)
