Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure standing atop delineated legs and curved feet. She is defined by voluptuous thighs, an incised necklace, an elaborately decorated headdress, and attenuated arms projecting from rounded shoulders. Her eyes are applied in twin rectangular shapes with "punched" double eyeballs. The figure is enveloped in cream-hued slip, and liberal amounts of original white and red-orange pigment are still visible. Size: 2.875" W x 6.25" H (7.3 cm x 15.9 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
