Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery drinking vase of a sizable form with a round but stable base, tapered walls, and a flared rim surrounding the deep basin. The highly burnished surfaces present lighter shades of brown, and areas of fire-darkening have imbued some darker spots to both the interior and exterior. Size: 6.2" W x 8.125" H (15.7 cm x 20.6 cm)

Light earthen deposits mostly within basin. Old orange pigment present on base, likely from old inventory information.
