East Asia, Korea, Koryo (also Goryeo) Dynasty, ca. 12th to 13th century CE. A wheel-thrown grayware pottery jar of a minimalist form with a spherical body, a corseted neck adorned with incised concentric rings, and a flared rim. Included with the vessel is a 20th century Japanese wooden box with a narrow label on the lid and yellow bindings to secure the lid shut. Size (vessel): 6" W x 6.5" H (15.2 cm x 16.5 cm); (box w/ lid): 7.75" L x 7.75" W x 10.2" H (19.7 cm x 19.7 cm x 25.9 cm)
