Description:

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque (Jama Coaque), ca. 500 CE. A hollow-built pottery shaman figure seated in a pose suggesting deep contemplation or a shamanic trance. Presenting with a forward lean, the figure rests with one arm across both knees and the other supporting one cheek. The bulbous head is topped with a form-fitting cap, and turquoise-colored bangles adorn the brow, neck, wrists, calves, and ankles. Size: 5" L x 3.375" W x 6.5" H (12.7 cm x 8.6 cm x 16.5 cm)
