Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A delightful pottery vessel in the form of a stylized dog standing upon 4 tapered feet with bulging leg muscles and a protruding head. Crowned by a pair of pointed ears, the abstract visage extends from a long neck displaying a narrow mouth and large, coffee bean-shaped eyes. A raised rim is featured at the center of the animal's back while a petite tail coils at the posterior. Size: 7.3" L x 5.8" W x 6" H (18.5 cm x 14.7 cm x 15.2 cm)

    Condition:
  • Rim has minor chip and small area of restoration. Light surface wear as shown, but otherwise, intact and excellent with rich earthen deposits. Uneven legs create slight wobble, but still able to stand independent of support.
