Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. This is a sturdy pottery figure of a female. She stands well on her own atop powerful thighs, with her hands in a classic Jalisco pose, one on her stomach and the other on her breast. She wears a ringed headdress and has a nose ring and earrings. A nice example of a shaft tomb figure. Size: 4.25" W x 8" H (10.8 cm x 20.3 cm)
