Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built female pottery figure, sitting with legs folded to one side, holding a bowl upon her left shoulder, and placing her right hand beneath her breast. Ample breasts and delineated genitalia emphasize her fertility. Her characteristic elongated, sheep-face looks upward toward the celestial realm. Red and white pigments remain. Nice manganese deposits. Size: 4.75" W x 5.625" H (12.1 cm x 14.3 cm)
