Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A delightful pair of pottery figures seemingly partaking in a celebration or ceremony with the male seated at the front with a drum and the female depicted bare-chested and sitting behind him with her hands grasping his shoulders. Both are portrayed in classic Jalisco tradition with slit-form eyes, large, pointed noses, and extended heads crowned by crossed head bands. Size: 7.2" L x 6.5" W x 9.1" H (18.3 cm x 16.5 cm x 23.1 cm)
