Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, Ameca style, Protoclassic period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A mesmerizing pottery figure of a bare-chested female, shown kneeling with one arm out-stretched as though gesturing to the viewer, while the other balances a vessel atop her shoulder. Adorned with black and beige slip, her voluptuous breasts are enveloped in tattoos of hypnotic designs as black pigment additionally envelops her skirt and legs, as well as delineates her slightly open mouth and the lids and pupils of her huge, elongated eyes. A fabulous, enticing example! Size: 7.5" L x 9.1" W x 14.3" H (19 cm x 23.1 cm x 36.3 cm)
