Description:

Ancient Near East, ca. 9th to 13th century CE. A stunning pair of high karat gold earrings, both presenting a design shaped like a crescent moon with a filigree twisted rope followed by a plain wire border, each end of the crescent punctuated by a large granule. Adorning the faces are colorful glass inlays, a teardrop form in pale blue green paste glass (its symmetrically placed match missing the inlay) and a central ovoid ruby red glass cabochon. Above the inlays are another pair of gold granules. Both earrings are suspended from wire loop hangers. So beautiful! Size: 1" L x .875" W (2.5 cm x 2.2 cm) Weight: 4 grams
