Southeast Asia, Lombok, Indonesia,ca. 18th century CE. A finely carved figure with bold facial features including wide open eyes and toothy grin. On the back of his head are the scrolled eyes of a Garuda or perhaps the double corolla of a floral motif with a checkered shawl below. He sits in the traditional inclined pose with both hands resting upon his knees. Custom stand Size: 2" W x 4" H (5.1 cm x 10.2 cm)

Provenance: Ex- private collection of Ami Brown. Mr. Brown was the owner of the Coca Cola franchise in Israel and amassed a huge and very fine collection of Indonesian Kris's as well as other ethnographic and tribal arts. His collection numbered more than 3000 pieces with many on display during his life in the Ein Harod Museum of Art.
