Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central Peru, Inca Empire, ca. 1200 to 1532 CE. A fine set of two cast-bronze tools. The shorter chisel is rectangular in form with a thick butt, a stocky body, and a narrow head with a blunt edge indicative of repeated use. The larger axe head has a rectangular body with a flared head and a pair of projecting points that form a crescent-shaped edge. The chisel has formed dark-brown patina, and the axe head bears specks of green and russet-hued patina. Size: 3.625" W x 6.8" H (9.2 cm x 17.3 cm); 7.125" H (18.1 cm) on included custom stand.
